How you will set up the DigiD Ghana app on your phone, and what works today.
When DigiD Ghana opens to the public, setting up the app will have three steps.
- Get the app on your phone.
- Set up DigiD Ghana on your phone. The app creates a secure key that stays on your phone. When real identity checks are connected, this is where your identity will be checked with an official source.
- Choose a 5-digit PIN code that only you know. You use it to open the app and to confirm every login.
What works today
The test version of the app already does all of this, but with an invented person. The identity check is simulated: no real identity card is read, and the National Identification Authority is not connected. The app says so in a yellow banner on every screen. In the app’s menu you can see the ID check, your messages, your devices and the websites you logged in to, and you can find help.
